This song has taken on brand new meaning for me this week. This week I was given the priviledge to be a part of seeing life transformation. I cannot tell you all the details, but it is too good not to share anything. This week I responded to a general GMAIL survey. I made all my answers about Jesus and how important he is in my life. I didnt think much of it, but through this a got an amazing response from someone who had read it. Through a series of emails and questions, I was able to share the love of Christ with this person and for the first time in their life they now understand what unconditional love is! Halelujah, I have a new sister in Christ. God is so good. This woman had a past where she had never known love, neveer experienced faith, and never understood that she was beautiful in the eyes of her creator. In just a few short days, God has brought restoration and joy to her broken life. Through this I have once agian been reminded of what redemption truly is. Being a Christian for the majority of my life, I tend to take my salvation for granted. God forgive me for that. There is nothing like seeing a new creation in Christ become alive and excited for His sake. It brings restoration to my soul!

Time Heals or Does It?

              It’s hard to believe that three years have passed since I was so shockingly attacked doing ministry in my own apartment complex.  “Time heals “is what they say. I’ve been contemplating that phrase for a while now.  Does time really heal? Well I can testify that as more distance is put between that awful day and the present, it doesn’t make it any less traumatic or heartbreaking. It still hurts and there are still scars that are easily seen and felt. There are still tears that are shed and obstacles to overcome. However, as I look back on the last few years and compare to how I feel today, I notice that the tears are fewer and farther between, my anxiety is less and there is more peace in my heart. Is this because of time? I am unsure.  Maybe we give time too much credit. I believe that first and foremost, Jesus gets the credit for holding me together throughout these years. Living with PTSD

      Its been nearly 17 months since I was violently physically and sexually assaulted. They always say "time heals", however there are many days where I feel like that phrase is just rubbish. My mind tells me I should be in front of this. That this trial is in my past and I should be moving forward by now. I feel as though I should be ready to share my story as an overcomer or as a past victim giving purpose and meaning to those who are just recently experiencing such a tragedy. I've had months and months of counseling, read several books, been indulged in the scriptures, and started new joyful adventures since that day. However despite all of this some days it feels as though my circumstances stay the same and my heart aches as severely as it did in the first weeks, if not more.        My life has changed since September 8, 2012 in so many ways.
